The major difference between the both of the symbols are:
- The Movieclip symbol does not move along the main timeline while the Graphic symbol does.
- The Movieclip symbol can have an instance name while the Graphic symbol cannot.
- The Movieclip symbol can be controlled by code. They also have access to filters, colour effects and so on.
- The Graphic symbol, however, gives access to the Looping tool and the Frame Picker Tool, which grants the user the ability to select the available frames.
